Why EvangelismSHIFT?

Our nation needs it.

As our nation’s culture continues to divide and change, the Christian community is being silenced and ostracized. One of the biggest ways the American Church has responded to this change is with an increased focus on evangelistic events.

The reality is that most people will never attend these events without a meaningful relationship with a witnessing Christian.

What can EvangelismSHIFT do for our nation?

When we asked God this question, he began to change our thinking about evangelism and showed us that the most effective thing we can do is help churches move from event-driven, leader-owned evangelism to congregations with a culture of living as witnesses in their daily lives and encounters.

People need to know how to be witnesses in the normal relationships of their lives.

That’s why EvangelismSHIFT was created.

Disciple-making

While Jesus ministered to the lost, his main focus was on developing his disciples to be fishers of men. Jesus knew that we must begin developing believers into effective witnesses in their daily lives and relationships.

“I glorified you on the earth, having accomplished the work which you have given me to do.”

John 17:4

Focus SHIFT

The Apostle Paul’s approach to evangelistic prayer centers on empowering believers to share their faith boldly and clearly, rather than focusing solely on praying for those who don’t yet know Christ.

We’ve realized that our primary focus has often been misdirected toward the lost people, when it should primarily be on equipping believers. (Matthew 9:37-38, Luke 10:2)

The most impactful way for the church to advance evangelism is by supporting believers to live as authentic witnesses for Christ in their everyday relationships, enabling them to naturally and effectively reach those who don’t yet know Him.

EvangelismSHIFT provides a framework for how to make this SHIFT, as a congregation, to living as witnesses in our daily encounters with people.
